Rihanna is one celebrity that loves a hair transformation. This good girl gone bad has updated her image more times that we can name. She’s a true hair fashion pioneer and with each hair style she manages to embody her true personality.

Most recently she has opted for going back to her original chocolate dark locks, punked up with a shaved side and this just after we were getting used to her messy blonde mane! Back on her xfactor appearance she opted for gorgeous ringlets teamed with a fantastic red tartan mcqueen dress to create a fantastic school girl-ish image.

Prior to this Ri-Ri sported an array of incredible styles in her now infamous red hue. Red was the colour that really marked Rihanna’s burst into superstardom and womanhood and launched her as a true sex symbol. Whether it was the volumised tight curls, the 60’s volume or the glamourous bob or even the bowl cut that she sported in the colour, they were all a hit!

Before the red Ri-Ri had many signature styles, such as her two tone black and blonde locks, the punky mohawk, big quiff, boyish crop and her lucious long locks. Each one of these images, inspired woman and girls everywhere to book in with their stylists, but none quite so much as her red, which has had us all reaching for the bleach and the semi-permanants!

A true hair inspiration. Ri-Ri we salut you!

After stepping out with Jude Law, Sienna Miller’s lock instantly became a must have! Her gorgeous lengths and full waves inspired us all to ditch out blunt cuts in exchange for hippy-chic braids and sun kissed colours. This is a timeless look, and is particularly great for those summer months and festival season.
Not only is her daytime look a hit with us all, but Sienna manages to effortlessy and seamlessly transform her hair for the perfect red carpet glamous image. So her gorgeous locks, teamed with her contagious smile mean that there is no way she’d be missed off my hair icons list. What’s not to love?

Victoria Beckham is one celebrity that has continuously gained column inches through setting fabulous hair trends.
After a length of time with her wagtastic, tired extensions, ‘posh’ took the plunge, removed the extensions and created the infamous ‘Pob’ an elfin style bob that rocked the hair world.
Since that 2006 style she has continued to revamp her look, setting new trends, not only in the hair world but now in the fashion world.

Jennifer Aniston is without a doubt a true hair icon! Her style known as ‘The Rachel’ (named after her ‘Friends’ character) was the definitive style of the 90’s, and no style has been so copied since. The layerd and angled cut with its natural bounce, created by Chris McMillan was a sure hit world wide.
Since then thousands of women all over the world have continued to lust after Jen’s locks and many have attempted to emulate her image. Now her mane continues to be sleek, glossy and parted off centre. This look is classic, simple and coveted world wide.

And finally, a huge trend from this years Oscars, The Ballerina Bun, very Black Swan, elegant and achievable. And girls, this is a look that can be achieved with hair above the shoulder too, it just takes a bit of patience!

This look is usually best to be well groomed, smoothed and shiny, however it could be easily grunged up for your festival look, by adding braids and texture.

Another key trend for this summer is supremely groomed hair, however this is achieved! Whether it is a low slung pony tail, a perfect bun or some vintage inspired waves and rolls.

My personal favourite of this looks is from Christian Dior, a great way to add some simple glamour and elegance to your look and perfectly excecuted. But what else would you expect from Dior? Timeless

Which is your favourite look?

One trend that was repeated throughout  New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week was the low slung pony tail. With each designer and hair stylist producing a different take on the style, it proved to be superbly versatile and is going to be every where this summer! And from looking at Paul Smith’s Autumn Winter Collection it’s going to stick around for the next season so embrace it girls!

Easy to achieve and to add your own stamp to, how will you be wearing yours this summer girls?

I think I’m going to be teaming mine up with a messy braid for a ‘festival chic’ look.

New York Fashion Week included many daring hair trends including this look, featured at the Thankoon show and created by Odile Gilbert.
The illusion of short hair was created be using two twists and the colour was created using coloured clay powder.
As this isn’t practical for day to day life, here’s a link for some great semi-permanant colours that you can use to create the look:
http://www.lariche.co.uk/ - these colours are also available on ebay, usually at a discounted price!

I love this look and teamed with natural makeup this is a perfect summer look!
So what do you think girls?
